Metro Tunnel Careers
Join our Passenger Services team in shaping the future of rail.
Be among the first to work at the new Metro Tunnel stations, helping thousands of passengers get where they need to go quickly and safely.
The five Metro Tunnel stations will be new landmarks for the city, featuring striking architecture, world-class public art and 21st century technology and amenities.
To get ready to welcome passengers to the Metro Tunnel, a variety of frontline positions including Stations Masters, Station Assistants, Station Officer(s) and Senior Station Officer(s) are available across the five new stations:
• Anzac
• Town Hall
• State Library
• Parkville
• Arden
Station staff positions are highly visible passenger-facing roles, responsible for managing day to day station operations and delivering an excellent passenger experience.
These roles have a strong customer service focus to keep Melbourne moving through on-time, reliable, safe and efficient services. No mandatory qualifications are required to apply for these positions.
Successful applicants will participate in a training program that will arm them with the skills and knowledge to operate the new stations.

About the Metro Tunnel
The Metro Tunnel will create a new end-to-end rail line from Sunbury in the north-west to Cranbourne and Pakenham in the south-east – via a new tunnel under the city, freeing up space in the City Loop.
The project will transform the way Victorians travel around our suburbs, city and state, allowing for more than a half a million extra passengers a week during peak times across Melbourne’s train network.
Once operational, passengers will be able to catch a train to Parkville and St Kilda Road for the first time, and switch easily to City Loop services via underground walkways at Town Hall Station (to Flinders Street Station) and State Library Station (to Melbourne Central Station).
