Station Accessibility Features
This page provides information on which accessibility features are available at each of our metro stations.
The below table provides advice on access to stations, staffing, escalators, lifts, independent boarding, shelter, tactile edges, hearing loops, information screens, wide paths, accessible toilets, parking and pick up / drop of facilities. The table also highlights locations with low platforms. Detailed definitions are provided below the table.

You may find stations are temporarily unstaffed due to staff unavailability. If you need support or information at an unstaffed station please use the red button at customer help points on station platforms. This will connect you to a Metro staff member.
Some toilets are not available when a station is not staffed.
Definitions
Station access: Independent access supported via ramp less than 1 in 14, at-grade path or lifts. Assisted access suggested for steeper ramps.
Staffed: Metro staff are available at the station
Escalators: Platform access available by escalator
Lifts: Platform access available by lift
Independent boarding: Area at accessible boarding point has been upgraded to allow independent boarding without a portable ramp
Shelter: Shelter near accessible boarding area
Low platform: Boarding ramp from platform to train may be steeper than 1 in 8. Assistance may be required.
Tactile edges: Hazard tactiles on platform edges
Hearing Loop: Station fitted with hearing loop technology
Info screens: Passenger Information Display Screens available
Path widths: Path widths are paths greater than 1200mm wide
Toilet: Accessible toilet available
Parking: Accessible parking available
Pick up / Drop off: Short-term pick up / drop off zone near station entrance
Additional Facilities
Assistance animal relief areas: To encourage passengers travelling with an Assistance Animal on board our services, Metro has introduced five new Assistance Animal Relief Areas around the network. The five facilities provide access to appropriate surfacing, water and fencing at Footscray, Parliament, Caulfield, Flemington Racecourse and Showgrounds stations.
