On the Train

This page provides information on priority seating, allocated spaces for mobility aids and how to get assistance from Metro staff.

Priority Seating

Priority seats are available near doors in all carriages and are identifiable with signage. Some fleet types also have distinctive orange priority seating.  If you use a walking frame, use the seating provided in the train and apply the brakes during train travel.

Intercom

Every train has a Passenger Emergency Intercom, which is a button you will find within the carriage, often near doors and allocated spaces. If you need urgent assistance, press the button to speak to the driver. The driver will respond to you when it is safe for them to do so, please note their response may not be immediate.

Exiting the train

The driver will open the door and provide you with the portable ramp, if required. If using a mobility aid, should you accidentally miss your stop or hear the door closure beeping tone prior to exiting at your intended station, please use the Passenger Emergency Intercom to alert the driver of your need to exit as soon as possible.
